About Us
The Winn Farmers’ Market is a non profit organization that is locally sponsored and directed program designed to provide area producers with an outlet to sell farm-fresh garden and orchard products to local consumers. The basic mission of the Winn Farmers’ Market is to improve the quality of life in our community by stimulating the agriculture industry while providing area consumers with the opportunity to buy the freshest locally grown garden products.
The Market is located on the corners of Main and streets. The business office is located within the LSU AgCenter Research and Extension office at 119 West Main Street Room 108, Winnfield, LA 71483 We open the last Tuesday in May through the last Friday in August. We are open every Tuesday and Friday of the season from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The market is also open during other times of the year depending upon produce and product availability.
The Winn Farmers’ Market is a covered open air market available year round to its members. Here you have the unique opportunity to meet the farmers growing the produce you eat.
The Market is participant in the USDA- Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. This program provides low-income seniors with coupons that can be exchanged for eligible foods at farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs. Seniors may redeem their coupons at the Winn Farmers' Market. We are now able to redeem Child Nutrition Programs are Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition coupons in addition to the Seniors program.
We are always looking for new farmers; we’ll give you lots of information and support. Whether you farm full-time or as a hobby the Winn Farmers Market is an excellent way to sell your products.
